The PEARLY’S Dial Rock Sailing Race
The first Pearly’s Dial Rock Sailing Race is happening on the Saturday 24th October 2009. The start is scheduled for 13h00.
It forms part of the Lagoon Life Festival and will run shortly after the Driftwoods Dash Surfski Race which is part of the Discovery Men’s Health Surfski Series.
Entry fee is R100 per head for pre-entries, and here’s what it includes:
· R1000.00 in cash prizes plus some lucky draws
· A floating trophy for the winners
· An event shirt – guaranteed for pre-entries only
· A beer (Powerade for u18’s!) and a burger at Pearly’s after the race.
Entries on the day of the event will cost R75 – no shirt included (The shirt is a long sleeved moisture management top). See entry form for details as there are some other perks for early registration.
There will be one course only and the overall winner will be the boat with the quickest time on handicap. This is a fun race so you are not required to have SAS affiliation or be a member of a sailing club, just come and have some good sailing fun.
Sunday 25th will be a holdover day in the event of the weather not playing along.
The weekend promises to be a classic with Surfski, Kite, SUP and Sailing races happening on the beach plus a trail run and a twilight mountain bike event at the Country Estate.
